John Dalton

  1. John Dalton was an English chemist, physicist, and meteorologist born in 1766 in England. He is best known for developing the modern atomic theory, which states that all matter is made up of tiny particles called atoms. Dalton explained that atoms of the same element are identical and combine in simple whole-number ratios to form compounds. His work helped scientists understand the structure of matter more clearly. Dalton also studied gases and proposed Dalton’s Law of Partial Pressures. Because of his important contributions, he is considered one of the founders of modern chemistry.

  C. V. Raman (Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman) was a famous Indian physicist born in 1888 in Tamil Nadu, India. For this discovery, he received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930, becoming the first Asian to win a Nobel Prize in science. In India, National Science Day is celebrated on February 28 every year to honor his discovery. C. V. Raman is remembered as one of India’s greatest scientists.
